To be selfish is to be utterly miserable. To be hateful is to be without any genuine sense of your own worth.
Do yourself a favor, and commit yourself to doing what is right, and good, helpful and loving. Do yourself a favor, and live far beyond your own selfish concerns.
If your overriding focus is on what's in it for you, there simply will never be very much in it for you. Lasting happiness comes not from what you're able to get, but rather from all you're willing to give.
Be good and loving and generous with life and you'll experience a life that is good for you. Use each day to make a positive difference in the world, and you'll find that world growing more satisfying and enjoyable.
See each encounter as an opportunity to sincerely enjoy your own generosity. Look for ways in every situation to experience the pleasure of lifting life higher.
Live each moment beyond yourself, with love for all you see. And live your life at the highest, most satisfying level.

Go make something good
When life doesn't give you much encouragement, make your own encouragement. If you can't find anything to be positive about, create something on your own to be positive about.
Even when all the news seems to be negative, there are still plenty of positive possibilities. Choose to live your life based not on what has happened, but on the good things you can now do.
There's nothing to be gained by being upset, so let the disappointments quickly pass. There's everything to be gained by being creative and productive, so get yourself busy making a difference.
Yes, life is difficult and complicated and frustrating. Yet it is also miraculous in its beauty and wonder, and filled endlessly with opportunities for joy.
Go ahead, accept that the negative stuff will come, and decide not to let it get to you. Get in the habit of looking beyond the little problems and seeing the big opportunities.
If you catch yourself sulking about how unfair it all is, remind yourself that you've got much better things to do. Lift your eyes, lift your spirit, lift your feet off the ground and go make something good.

Shiny distractions
There are lots and lots of superficial, meaningless distractions. There is only one beautiful, authentic you.
It's easy to give in to the distractions, to listen to gossip, to be transfixed by celebrity minutiae, or to scroll through endless online postings. But the only thing you accomplish is to waste your precious time.
Though the distractions often come in bright and shiny packages, they are empty packages that add no value to your life. Make the choice to honor the value of your time, and make the choice to let some of those distractions go.
Fill the priceless moments of each day with valuable, meaningful experience. You are a thinking, feeling, creative person, so use your time to explore your own thoughts, to authentically feel life's wonder and to create great value.
Instead of throwing your time away, transform it into new richness. Instead of passing the day in distracted idleness, fill the day with real, satisfying experience.
Don't give your life away to the shiny but meaningless distractions. Let go of those distractions, and feel the joy of living each day with positive purpose and substance.

Put yourself to use
Don't just develop your abilities. Put them to use.
Don't merely collect information. Put it to good and meaningful use.
Don't simply absorb your life's experiences. Put those experiences to use in moving forward.
There are so many valuable and wonderful things you can do with just the few hours in this one single day. And after today is another, and another, all filled with positive ways to put yourself to use.
If you just stand still, and do nothing with the opportunities, you'll soon have nothing but regret. Today, right now, is when you can replace the pain of future regret with the joy of present, fruitful action.
You have a beautiful life that's filled with rich possibilities. And now is your chance to put it to use.

No shortcut
Following your purpose requires work. Achieving the life of your dreams requires challenging, sustained effort.
On a daily basis, it's tempting to avoid the real work of fulfillment. There are so many other ways to fill your time.
So it pays to continually remind yourself of the irreplaceable value of that work. It pays to remind yourself that true fulfillment is simply not possible without authentic commitment and effort.
Though you may occasionally be enticed into thinking that there's a shortcut to a life of fulfillment, there is no shortcut. Because what you truly desire are not the empty tokens of achievement, but the experience of creating achievement.
Instead of wasting your time looking for the easy way out, put your energy into giving your very best efforts. Recommit yourself to making a real, satisfying, positive difference in your own life and in the lives of others.
Rather than avoiding it or complaining about it, choose to enjoy and treasure the effort. For it is through your effort that your true purpose is fulfilled.

Give yourself a minute
Before you respond to what life throws at you, give yourself a minute. Give yourself a minute, and your response will be much more powerful and effective.
Sometimes, in situations of immediate danger, it pays to react immediately and automatically. Most of the time, though, a thoughtful, measured response is by far the most advantageous response.
Feel the powerful, adrenaline-laced emotions of the moment, and take them into consideration. But don't let those emotions control you.
Take a deep, calming breath, and put the situation in perspective. Remind yourself of who you are, and remember not to do something rash that you'll quickly regret.
Instead of letting the situation control you, let your highest values point the way forward. Instead of merely trying to prove something, find a way to truly improve things.
Before you act, give yourself a minute. And give life your very best, most positive and effective response.

Live your love
Love feels good, but don't just feel it. Live your love.
Don't keep your love trapped inside you. Put it into action in every moment of your life.
There are people you love, values you love, and beautiful, lovely things you love. Today, and every day, do something good and supportive and loving for them.
Love that is not truly lived and acted upon can end up as painful regret. But you do not have to let that happen, because you are here to manifest your love in countless ways.
There is much love in your heart. Let it flow into your life.
Feel the love, act on it, feel it even more, and act on it again and again. Make your great love into a truly great life.

Your opportunity
You are skilled and experienced at making progress. Each day, each challenge, and every situation is an opportunity to make some more.

You are good and worthy, experienced and effective. So keep going, and add more beauty, more substance, more meaning and joy to your life and your world.

Build a positive future
Taking out your frustration on others does not end or reduce that frustration. However, giving joy to others absolutely does increase the joy in your own life.
When dealing with other people, a negative approach does not benefit anyone. A positive approach, on the other hand, can benefit everyone.
It may not seem fair or equitable to be helpful or respectful to those who have been hurtful to you. However, it can most certainly be in your best interest.
The way to ease the pain, the way to end the hurt, is not with more pain. The way to end the pain is by moving on to more positive, enriching endeavors.
Instead of looking for places to assign blame, look for opportunities to create value. Instead of holding tightly to a grudge, free yourself to live with more joy and positive purpose.
Rather than perpetuating past negativity, choose to build a positive future. That future is where you'll soon be living, so work now to make it the very best it can be.

Living well
Living well is not a matter of proving you're better than everyone else. Living well is a matter of demonstrating how truly and authentically good life can be from your unique perspective.
Living well is not about needing or having or getting. Living well is about being genuinely thankful for your situation in every moment, and choosing to make it even better.
Living well can never come from putting others down. On the contrary, the surest way to living well is by lifting others up.
Living well is not wishing or hoping, or even fondly remembering. Living well is living well now.
Living well is very much within your reach, wherever you are and whatever you're doing. Give your life the outstanding value it is due, and you'll indeed be living well.
With your thoughts, feelings and actions, celebrate the moment and celebrate the beauty of those who are around to live it with you. That is the real joy of living well.

New beauty
Every moment there is new beauty. For every moment, life unfolds in ways that have never been experienced before.
Do not miss the opportunities for wonder and joy by being caught up in judgment and anger. Live, allow, accept, see, experience and act from a perspective of pure gratitude and love.
Think of what a privilege it is to be here, to be you, to be aware and able and alive. Whatever may come your way is a part of your good fortune on this day.
Choose again and again to open yourself to the best possibilities. Feel the amazing power of life as it flows gently through you.
In even the smallest things there is great beauty. In even the most ordinary moments there is the extraordinary experience of life.
Right now your world is filled with new and expanding goodness. You are here to see it and know it, so do.

Join in on the fun
Give yourself a chance to be your best. Give yourself a good, valuable, meaningful challenge.
Give yourself a challenge and then give yourself the satisfaction of successfully meeting that challenge. Reach a little higher than you've ever reached before, and enjoy discovering that you can do it.
The more you attempt, the more you'll achieve. Use this day to take a bold step forward in the direction of your dreams.
Don't be content with merely watching others achieve. Give yourself permission to join in on the fun.
There's some real passion and ambition in you. Feel it and follow it.
Give yourself the joy of challenge, of focused action, and of achievement. With the way you live this day, remind yourself that life is as great as you choose to make it.

Give joy
When you're doing what you do, do it with joy. Instead of waiting for the situation to bring you joy, choose to give joy to the situation.
Give joy for the fact that you're here to experience whatever you may be experiencing. Give joy for the satisfying reality that you're making a difference in life.
Give joy to what you do, and you'll be more positively focused and effective at it. Give joy to the people you encounter, and you'll give those encounters a very good chance of being positive and fulfilling.
Be the person who brings positive energy into the room. Be the person who reminds everyone else how good it can be to be alive.
Simply choosing to be joyful can actually make you joyful. It's a powerful choice that you can make at any time, again and again.
Joy costs you nothing to give, and it can mean so much to everyone it touches. Give joy, live joy, and experience life at its best.

Get better and better
Every moment is a choice, and every day is a consequence of all the choices you have made. To achieve different consequences, make different choices.
Each experience is a learning experience. Continue to learn what works and what doesn't, what fulfills you and what doesn't, and use that knowledge to great benefit.
Find valuable insight in what has been, and make use of that insight right now when choosing what to do. That's a surefire way to improve what will be.
As life goes on, you have every opportunity to get better and better at it. With each joy, each disappointment, each success and each setback, your choices can become more powerful and effective.
Life generously teaches, so learn. Life demonstrates, inspires, and gives priceless feedback, so pay close attention and eagerly apply its ongoing lessons.
You're truly blessed with the opportunity to continue getting better. Take that opportunity, now and always, and delight in continuing to discover all the good you can do.

Invest yourself in it
If something matters to you, then invest yourself in it. Put your time, energy, resources and efforts into whatever is important to you.
Don't just claim that something is a priority. Demonstrate that it's a priority with the way you live your life.
Without commitment, action and persistence, your dreams, hopes, and goals end up as nothing but frustrating disappointments. You're worthy of much more than that, so work each moment of each day to create the outstanding life you deserve.
Every moment, every situation, every challenge, every obstacle provides you with the opportunity to invest yourself. Give of yourself in positive and meaningful ways, and enjoy the satisfying, rewarding returns on the investments you make in life.
The more of a vested interest you have in anything, the more fulfillment you're able to enjoy. Life is about making a difference, so make your life truly rich by using your days to add value in creative, significant ways.
Invest yourself, joyfully and enthusiastically, in this day, in this life. Your own unique greatness is here for you to fulfill.

Living with excellence
Today is an opportunity for living with excellence. Today is your chance to do what is good and right, worthwhile and fulfilling.
Yes, you can take shortcuts and attempt to cheat your way through the day. And yes, you can live with apathy and selfishness, but if you do, you'll miss out on the best this day has to offer.

Great abundance
Life's abundance is yours, right here, right now. Make good and meaningful use of it.
There is a very real connection between what you have and what you truly desire. Put your energy and effort into working your way through that connection.
Life's amazing abundance is yours, but that doesn't mean you can just sit back and take it all in. On the contrary, it means you have the obligation to step forward and invest that abundance in creating new beauty.
Consider for a moment how immensely fortunate you are. Then get busy earning that good fortune with positive, purposeful action.
Life's great abundance can be transformed into wonderful, useful, elegant and meaningful value. And you have the great privilege of being able to cause that transformation.
Look at life's great abundance and feel the possibilities. Now is when you can make them real.

Truly win
Even when you're surrounded by dishonesty and indolence, live with honesty and a commitment to excellence. Just because others choose to push themselves down, doesn't mean you must follow along.
When you encounter rudeness, there's nothing to be gained by being rude in return. Though no one else may notice or appreciate your polite, respectful response, you will notice, and that's of great value.
It's easy to get drawn into useless conflicts about trivial matters. Yet you can always choose a more positive, empowering path.
It's easy to take offense and then seek to give it back in equal measure. However, you have much better things to do with your time and energy.
Keep yourself committed to truth, excellence and sincerity, no matter what others may do. Live life not by negative provocation, but rather by positive intention.
When you get drawn into a fight, even if you win that fight you're likely lose your best options. Instead, find a way to rise above the conflict before it begins, for that is how you truly win.

Go somewhere good
In your mind, go somewhere good. Life has infinite possibilities, and you can imagine whichever ones you choose.
You don't have to settle for anything less than an outstanding positive perspective. Use the power of your thoughts to journey to a place that will give you that perspective.
Connect yourself, again and again, to what you value most. Remind yourself constantly why life can be so amazingly good.
Keep your focus on life's best possibilities. Point your thoughts solidly in the direction of where you most want to go.
Your thoughts have the power to construct a truly beautiful and personally fulfilling world. And then those thoughts can lead you to make that world a reality.
In your mind, go somewhere good. And you'll find the energy and inspiration to bring the whole of your life there too.

The choice to enjoy
This day is unique in all of history, and you are here to live it. Enjoy every moment.
Stop looking for reasons to complain or worry, and start seeing the possibilities that are everywhere. Make the choice to enjoy who you are, where you are, as you are, and the best of those possibilities will open up to you.
Instead of looking for reasons to judge, look for things to enjoy. Decide to focus on the beauty that exists in every moment, in every place.
You already know how much more effective you are when you're enjoying yourself. So it makes perfect sense to make the choice, right now, to enjoy.
Yes, there are all sorts of tragedies and injustices, inconveniences and frustrations in this world. Yet the most effective way to make the world a better place is to be a better you, and that comes from truly enjoying yourself.
Make the choice to enjoy your experience of life on this day. And you'll be making the choice to significantly improve all of life with your attitude and your efforts.

On this day
Don't just dream about someday. Put real life into your dreams on this day.
It's fun to wish and dream and imagine. What's much, much more enjoyable and fulfilling, though, is to actually live the best of what you imagine.
Consigning your dreams to someday in the future is the same as telling yourself you cannot have them. Nothing could be further from the truth.
There is something you can do right now, on this very day, to give life to your most treasured dreams. Instead of merely wishing or hoping for something good to happen someday, take action to begin working toward it today.
You're alive to make a difference. Your most authentic dreams and desires point to precisely the kind of difference you're best equipped to make.
Move your dream from someday to now. You deserve the best today, so use today to make it happen.

Dealing with difficulties
Just because it's difficult, doesn't mean you should avoid it. Just because it's challenging, complicated or uncomfortable, doesn't mean it's undesirable.
The difficult tasks probably are not as difficult as you imagine them to be. And even if they do happen to be extremely difficult, that's really not such a bad thing.
The fact is, you don't actually know how difficult anything will be until you get started. And on top of that, working through whatever difficulties you encounter can be highly beneficial to you.
The best way to spend your time and energy is not in avoiding difficulty, but in creating meaningful value. If it's good and beneficial and important to you, the challenge involved in getting it done is a secondary concern.
It is by meeting the challenges, working through the difficulties and dealing with the complexities that you grow stronger and more capable. It is by stepping persistently forward no matter what the obstacles may be, that you make the achievements yours.
Life is indeed difficult, but don't make it even more so by resisting the difficulties. Accept those difficulties, deal successfully with them, and truly make your world a better place.

Do some
Being positive some of the time is much better than being positive none of the time. Making a small effort is far more effective than making no effort at all.
Even when you are not able to do it all, do some. Even when you don't have enough time, make good use of the time you have.
Though you may not get everything done, you can make some real progress. Even though conditions are not perfect, you can work with what you have.
Use each opportunity to do what you can, when you can, with what the moment affords you. Small efforts, all applied in a consistent direction, can quickly add up to big results.
Though there never seems to be enough time, there is always now. So make good and meaningful use of it.
Make life a little bit better, again and again, each chance you get. Soon, you'll find things to be a whole lot better.

Choosing your expectations
If you're convinced that the world is against you, then you'll find plenty of evidence to support your assumption. If, on the other hand, you're certain that you'll encounter support and assistance, you will.
When you look for excuses and reasons to complain, you'll surely find them in abundance. When you look for possibilities, and goodness, love and kindness, you'll find no shortage of those things.
What you see in life is made up largely of what you've already decided to look for. What you experience each day is driven by what you expect the day to bring.
You can choose the quality of the life you live by choosing your expectations. You can select the life you experience by choosing the way you experience it.
Make life helpful and supportive by living in a helpful and supportive way. Make life good by appreciating and adding to the goodness.
What you expect at the deepest, most sincere and unquestioned level, is what you get. So expect the very best of life, and live to make it so.

Mindful
When you truly pay attention and are fully aware, you are never bored and life is never tedious. You are continually immersed in a wondrous universe of limitless proportions, and it is always good to be mindful of that.
Be mindful, and see the possibilities in every moment and in every situation. Be mindful, and take positive, meaningful and beneficial control of every aspect of your life.
Instead of living on autopilot, instead of living from your assumptions, live from your best intentions. Instead of letting the illusions get you down, grab the immense positive reality of life and lift yourself higher and higher with it.
Give your complete and loving attention to whatever you're doing, without judgments or preconceptions. Connect with the astounding beauty and possibility of what is, and discover new joy in every situation.
Don't waste the power of your magnificent mind by filling it with worry, anger or resentment. Use that awesome power to appreciate life's special goodness and to make much more of it for yourself and others.
When you think, when you see, when you speak, when you listen, when you act, pay attention. Be fully mindful, and be fully alive.

Greater influence
You have a much greater influence than you can ever know. So make sure to make your influence a positive force for all of life.
The things you think, say and do, all go out into the world and take on lives of their own. What you set in motion can continue for a long, long time, and can grow to immense proportions.
Life amplifies the energy you give it, and that energy eventually comes back to you. Do yourself, and everyone else, a favor, and make that energy good and right to begin with.
You cannot escape the consequences of the negative things you do, so make the choice to avoid them at the outset. You cannot help but benefit from the value and goodness you give, so commit yourself to giving generously and often.
Give kindness, and that kindness grows bigger and bigger over time. Give love, and there is more and more love in the world as each day passes.
The way you live each moment goes far beyond the moment, and far beyond you. Live positively, like it matters, for it matters much more than you can ever imagine.
