Free yourself

Arrogance is the worst kind of loneliness because it is entirely self-imposed. If you become impressed with your own importance, everyone else ceases to be impressed at all.

The worst kind of ignorance is to think you know it all. For that is an ignorance into which you sink more deeply as each moment passes.

Those who are most genuinely admired are those who have no need to be admired. Those who learn the most are those who have the honesty to admit what they do not know.

Anyone who must announce that he is an expert most likely is not. The real experts are those who spend their time listening and learning rather than boasting and preening.

Humility is a virtue that will carry you far. When you are free from the crushing demands of ego, there is so very much more you can accomplish.

Let go of the need to be better than others. And you'll free yourself to reach magnificent heights of success and fulfillment.

The power of purpose

The obstacles you encounter rarely have a coherent purpose of their own. They are just there, inconvenient and troublesome to be sure, but with nothing of substance to sustain them.

You, on the other hand, have the extreme advantage of being able to choose and follow a definite purpose. By so doing, instead of randomly scattering your energy and efforts, you can sharply focus and powerfully concentrate all that energy, all those efforts in a consistent direction.

Soft, gentle raindrops falling over a wide area will always yield to the contours and obstructions of the landscape. Yet when those tiny drops of water are concentrated into a mighty river, they have the power to cut through any obstruction.

In the same way, when your thoughts, feelings and actions are centered around a clear and consistent purpose, nothing can hold you back. The random and disjointed exertions of circumstance are no match for a living and unwavering purpose.

The problems, the frustrations, the challenges and the difficult situations come and go. A steadfast, meaningful purpose will carry you successfully through them all.

Give your life a decided advantage over all the burdensome circumstances you encounter. Live each moment in the service of the highest and most positive purpose you can imagine.

Be of service

Those who achieve the most do not see themselves as competing. They see themselves as serving.

If you wish to make clear and unmistakable progress, be of service. If you seek to create great value, be of service.

When your strategy is to grab all you can as quickly as you can, you will be met with debilitating opposition. When your strategy is to be of genuine service, your support will run far and wide.

It is foolish to think that you can fight against the world. True success comes when you choose to work for the world.

At any age, in any condition, for every circumstance, there is much you can give to life. Look for what you can offer, and there is much that you will find.

Give birth to a rich prosperity that will fill your own life and the world around you. Choose always, at every opportunity, to be of service.

Magnificence of being

In this moment you are free to live without limitation. You are able, through the whole of your being, to express who you truly are.

Everything that is now, is here to fulfill your most profound purpose. Positive possibilities stretch out far beyond the horizon in every direction.

As moment passes into moment, new substance and richness are born. A goodness that is already beyond measure, grows.

You can choose to focus upon what seem to be limits and then become a slave to those perceived limitations. Or you can let go of your resistance, and let the ineffable magnificence of being flow through you.

This moment demands nothing from you. Yet when you grasp just a small fraction of what this moment offers, you'll rush to give it all you have.

Life is fresh and new and begins all over again right now. Let it be so in you.

Build upon what you build

You may not think you have what it takes to persist in your efforts for long periods of time. Yet all you must do is persist for just a moment, and then another moment, and then another.

The energy necessary for achievement is never going to be fully available to you when you begin. But go ahead and begin, and that energy comes to you as you require it.

Do not be dismayed at how long the journey will take. Instead, be thankful and enthusiastic about the one particular step you can take right now.

Success creates its own capacity for fulfillment as it moves along. Your job is to keep moving it along.

Give your best to the task at hand. That will prepare you and equip you for the next task, and the next.

Build what you can with what you have, and then build upon what you build. In this simple, steady, accessible way, whatever you envision is within your reach.

Wonderful possibilities

You are blessed, right here and right now, with the miracle that is your life. With magnificent abundance swirling all around you, the possibilities are more numerous than can be imagined.

Yes, the setbacks and disappointments can be acutely painful. And yet the only reason you're able to feel the pain is because you know that joy and fulfillment are always possible.

There is no limit to the potential that is in this moment. For in this moment you can put your highest, most treasured values into action.

In this moment, you have a choice. And you have all that is necessary to follow that choice.

In this moment you can choose to benefit from a lifetime of learning, experience, dreams and longings. All that has brought you to this day is yours to make use of in fulfilling your best possibilities.

Every bit of energy you sense around you can be focused in the service of the most wonderful possibilities you can imagine. Go ahead, imagine, and bring those possibilities to life.

Rise to the challenge

The more burdensome the challenge, the more valuable the response. Out of extreme difficulty, greatness is born.

When things seem to be at their worst, they are likely to soon get much better. The more intensely the problems are illuminated, the more effectively they can be addressed.

Always remember that life is incessantly dynamic. Life is able to respond with innovation, determination and an underlying goodness that cannot be denied.

The best cure for a problem is the problem itself. Because each problem is a well-defined opportunity for improvement.

Whether you judge something to be a problem or opportunity says more about you than about the situation. The way you choose to see the world is the way the world will be for you.

In life there is challenge and in challenge there is life. Rise to each challenge, and continue adding value to the ever-growing richness of life.

Be you

You were born to be real, not to be perfect. You are here to be you, not to live someone else's life.

Every day you make some progress and every day you make a few mistakes. Through it all, your wisdom continues to grow and your experience continues to broaden.

Be gentle with yourself. Accept who you are, where you have been, and what you have to work with, for in this moment you can make positive use of it all.

Reach in and touch the purpose that makes you feel most alive. The world around you is filled with places where that purpose can do great things.

It is never too late to offer your unique and genuine gifts to life. Now is the time to do great things, even in the smallest of ways.

Choose to fully and graciously live life as it comes. The richest rewards by far are the ones to which you most sincerely give of yourself.

Allow joy

Joy is your true nature. That's why it feels so right.

Simple yet profound, joy asks only to be. Joy fills your life to the extent that you allow it.

Let go of the frustration, the anger, envy and worry. And joy comes quickly to fill the void.

The smallest things can inspire joy. And the biggest moments in life benefit when they are lived in joy.

Joy costs nothing and yet it gives so much. Joy is completely unreasonable and that is its most powerfully compelling reason.

Joy is always here and now. Allow joy to fill your heart, and its great value will fill your world.

Value in the doing

Behind every fortune is someone who has labored long into the night to make it real. Behind every important discovery is a person who often grew weary searching for it.

Behind the magnificent work of art is an artist who spent hour after hour, month after month toiling at tasks that were tedious and seemingly endless. Behind the beautiful, soaring music is a composer who carefully arranged each note, each pause, each crescendo into place.

Take heart. Your effort cannot help but pay off.

The fact is, your effort is the payoff. The fortune, the discovery, the work of art, and the music, as grand as they are, serve as mere tokens of the achievement.

The real achievement is in the achieving, and the real value is in the doing. Sincere, focused effort makes your life rich, even as you do it.

Make the effort and the reward is guaranteed. For the biggest reward is in the doing.

When times are tough

When everything is broken, it's easy to find plenty of things you can fix. When nothing seems to be going right, even the most basic positive effort can make a noticeable difference.

Times of great difficulty and challenge are also times of great opportunity. When there are problems in every direction, there is also much value waiting to be created.

When all is going well, it's easy to get lulled into a sense of complacency. It's easy to forget how truly capable and resourceful you can be.

Difficult times are not much fun. Yet they can give you great and valuable insights into what's truly important.

There is much to be gained when times are good. There is even more to be gained when times are tough.

Resolve to persevere and grow stronger through whatever difficulties may come. For though the difficulties will eventually end, the treasures they compel you to create can often last a lifetime.

Where there is a purpose

When there is a reason, there is a way. Where there is a purpose, there is a path.

You are capable of reaching higher and higher levels of achievement. The reason you have not yet reached some of them is because you have not yet had a compelling enough reason to do so.

When thinking of what you can do, stop thinking only in terms of what you have done. Think in terms of what you desire, what you can imagine, and what you can dream.

Think in terms of your purpose. Connect your awareness to whatever drives you, and it will drive you far indeed.

Purpose will find a way around the most stubborn obstacles. Purpose will bring the most meaningful and valuable possibilities into reality.

Follow the purpose that is truly you. And effectiveness, enthusiasm, achievement, joy and fulfillment will all flow into your life.

No struggle

Make the effort, to be sure. But do not make it into a struggle.

Struggle is not a specific condition or action. It is a label that casts a negative spin on your efforts and unnecessarily puts you at a disadvantage.

If you see yourself as struggling, your expectations are already lowered and the best you can hope for is to break even. Yet there's never any reason to see yourself as struggling.

Yes, the challenges may indeed be great. And you have what it takes to make real and steady progress in the face of those challenges.

Instead of seeing yourself as a victim, see yourself as making the most of a valuable experience. Rather than living in fear of being pushed back, seize with enthusiasm every opportunity to move forward.

Every situation is what it is, but it never has to be a struggle. For you are capable of doing much, much better than that.

The power of your passion

Though the odds may not be in your favor, you can do it. Though the challenges are great, you can make it happen.

People will likely tell you it's impossible. Even so, you can find a way to make it possible and to make it real.

When it means enough to you, then you can do it. When you are willing and committed and persistent, you will get yourself there.

Look within yourself and find those values that you most earnestly desire to express with your life. The things that are most genuinely important to you are the things that will power your achievements.

When you can put the power of your passion behind it, you will create it. Make the effort to find and to know that passion, and there is no limit to what you can accomplish.

Be utterly true to who you are. And fulfill your greatest possibilities.

Be different

To make a difference, you often must be different. It takes courage and confidence to go against the grain of negativity that surrounds you, and such courage can bring great rewards.

Where others see only doom and gloom, look for the bright glimmer of opportunity. For it is most certainly there.

When everyone is looking for someone to blame for what has already happened, turn your focus toward the future. Exploring the current possibilities will create infinitely more value than arguing over past failures.

When you encounter rudeness and irritation, generously offer your own polite and confident patience. When you bump up against the arrogance of another person, melt it away with your own sincere, self-assured humility.

Just because everyone is heading in a negative direction doesn't mean you must go that way too. On the contrary, it's a valuable opportunity for you to set a positive example.

In times of great difficulty and stress, choose to be a beacon of encouragement, understanding and positive purpose. Be different, and you can truly make a valuable positive difference.

Conquer doubt

Are your doubts holding you back? The way to conquer your doubts is with action.

Wondering about whether you can do it will not get it done. The only way to know for sure is to jump right in and get started.

Avoiding the challenges will only make those challenges grow bigger. Instead, walk right up to each challenge, and the closer you get, the more ways you'll discover to get beyond it.

If you wait until conditions are perfect, all you'll ever do is wait. Great accomplishments are given birth by starting from where you are with what you have.

As soon as you start to take action, you'll begin to replace your doubts with courage and confidence. The more you do, the more insignificant and powerless those doubts will become.

Stop wondering and start doing. Once you've done it you'll always know, without the slightest doubt, that you can.

Even though

Even though your morning may not have been productive, there is still much you can accomplish in the afternoon. Even though you've suffered some setbacks, there are still plenty of options for moving forward.

Even though you may disagree with what someone has to say, you can benefit greatly from understanding that person's point of view. Even though you find yourself in difficult and challenging circumstances, there is much value for you to create.

Even though you may feel like quitting, you have what it takes to keep going. Even though the goal seems far away, every step brings you closer.

Even though there are plenty of reasons for you to feel sorry for yourself, you can choose instead to renew your determination and enthusiasm. Even though your path is filled with obstacles, you can truly enjoy the sense of accomplishment that comes from successfully moving beyond each one.

Even though darkness may at times surround you, your light can shine more brightly than ever. Even though you may occasionally grow weary, there's always a way to renew and re-energize yourself.

Even though the road has its twists and turns, the journey is worth the effort. Keep going, keep growing, keep learning and loving and living with all the richness your precious life deserves.

Gather the small opportunities

Quick success is nice when it comes. However, slow and steady success is even better, because it is repeatable, robust and sustainable.

Overnight success almost never happens. And in the rare event when it does happen, there's a dreadful fear that it will disappear as quickly as it appeared.

Slow success is confident, lasting success. Success earned over time is success that you can genuinely enjoy, appreciate and continue to build upon.

Instant success depends upon being at exactly the right place at precisely the right time. Slow success, on the other hand, makes a small yet significant opportunity out of each moment and every situation.

Instead of wishing for immediate results, work patiently for the more realistic, reliable and valuable results that can only come with time and commitment. Steadily spread your success over time, and it will always be yours.

Every minute of every day there is a way to be slowly and steadily successful. Gather the small opportunities as they come, and the rewards will be great indeed.

How great it feels

This is a day to get things done. Make a list, and get started checking off the items as you complete them.

The most effective power you can have is power over your own actions. Instead of hoping or plotting to gain power over others, make use of the power you already have over yourself.

Identify a difficult situation and get to work untangling it. Choose a compelling possibility and make progress toward bringing it to life.

This is a dynamic moment that responds to your input. Put thoughtful, positive effort into it and you get valuable, meaningful rewards out of it.

Leave it to others to do the complaining, blaming, fretting and worrying. Focus your efforts on positive pursuits that will make a real difference.

The best way you can spend this day is in getting something accomplished. Get positive, get busy and truly enjoy how great it feels.

Time on your side

The easiest way to handle a problem is before it becomes a problem. The most effective way to resolve a confrontation is to prevent it from ever happening.

By understanding and appreciating what is, you're able to see what can be. By addressing big issues when they are still small, you can greatly enhance your positive influence.

Great achievements are built in long successions of small moments. When you know where you're going from the very beginning, you'll get there much more quickly.

Every day you are putting forth effort. Have the foresight to point all those successive efforts in the same direction, and you can create whatever results you wish.

Get out in front of your life and do what you must do, long before it must be done. Instead of wasting much effort on playing catch up, enjoy the rich, fulfilling rewards that come from being ahead of the game.

Act early, act often and act with positive purpose. Reap the tremendous benefits of putting time on your side.

This magnificent shore

What you do not know, you can learn. What you do not have, you can work to create or acquire.

The experience you seek is unfolding in every moment. Let life flow as it will, and you move toward your dream.

What you see as a challenge is the opportunity for which you've been waiting. Now is your time to achieve.

Those who say you are doomed, do not yet understand how truly abundant life is. Those who claim that your best days are behind you, do not grasp the awesome power of now.

Greet the rising sun with joy and lightness in your heart. This is your moment to shine.

You have just now arrived upon this magnificent shore. Live the richness that is all around.

At peace in this moment

By selflessness you fulfill yourself. By generously giving you gather riches.

Resentment costs you much and gives you nothing. Forgiveness costs you nothing and sets you free.

Fighting against something gives it added strength and influence. Whatever you accept, you're able to control.

When there's no one telling you what to do is when you truly learn. When your thoughts are still, you gain great insight.

By being flexible you can remain firm. By knowing your limitations you're able to transcend them.

Though some of life is bad, all of life is good. Be at peace in this moment, and you will always be.

Celebrate freedom

Freedom is the great enabler of opportunity. When you are free to act in accordance with your most treasured values and interests, anything you can imagine is possible.

Essential to freedom is responsibility. It is by accepting and exercising full responsibility over every aspect of your life that you become truly free to live and fulfill your own unique vision.

Freedom carries with it great power. Responsibility keeps that power focused in a positive and productive direction.

Freedom, lovingly tempered with responsibility, has produced many great and wonderful things. Even more wonderful is the fact that freedom's best rewards are yet to come.

For in freedom there is endless promise. With freedom, the possibilities for goodness and fulfillment are always growing more abundant.

Celebrate freedom and, more importantly, creatively put it to good use in your own special way. With your life, uncover and bring to life some of freedom's treasures that have never been seen before.

You are worth it

You are worth the trouble and effort required to make your life the best it can possibly be. There is so very much you have to express, to give, to experience and to contribute to the magnificent fabric of life.

You are worth the discomfort and frustration that you'll regularly need to get through. You are worth the pain that the world will sometimes offer.

For within you is the capacity for great joy and astounding achievement. Within you are beautiful and worthy dreams that long to be fulfilled.

You are one of a kind and you are filled with a driving purpose. You are worth whatever it takes to give that special purpose a lasting and meaningful expression.

Yes, the disappointments, inconveniences, pains, problems and annoyances will surely and steadily come. Yet they are indeed quite trivial compared to the precious possibilities that live within you.

Make whatever efforts necessary, endure whatever setbacks you must, move forward through whatever challenges may come along. For there is no question that you are worth it.

Think and do

You could spend years and years figuring out how to take three steps at once. Or you could simply take one step, and then the next, and then the next.

Being able to think things through is a tremendously valuable skill. But don't let all that thinking prevent you from doing.

Sometimes it pays to think of a more efficient or effective or faster way to complete the task. Other times you're better off when you just go ahead and do it.

Analyzing what you must do can be helpful. Yet analysis by itself won't get the job completed.

After you think it through, go ahead and get it done. Put your clever thinking into action, and you'll have something of tangible value to show for it.

Put your mind to work and you'll create great ideas. Then put those ideas to work with your efforts, and bring them successfully to life.

Fresh opportunities to be

Appreciate your shortcomings for where they have brought you. Then release them and be free to rise above the limitations.

Savor the disappointments one last time and remember all you have learned from them. Then let them go and eagerly look forward to new and fruitful experiences.

Sincerely and completely forgive those who have brought you pain, including yourself. And feel the healing that immediately takes hold.

Be truly thankful for having been through so much. Then get busy creating the best of what can be.

Let go of the useless drama that is already over. Hold on to the positive value that you've gained from it all.

Always there are new possibilities to explore, new ways to grow, and new worlds to experience. With each new now, the world is filled with fresh opportunities to be.
