Life as it is

Life is not lived in some far-off, imagined land of someday where everything is perfect. It is lived here and now, with the reality of the way things are.

Yes, by all means you can work toward an idealized existence. Yet to do so, you must successfully deal with the world as it is.

That, in fact, is much of what gives life its richness. Even though your present circumstances are less than ideal, you can nonetheless prevail and prosper.

The real and present difficulties never have to give you a reason to give up. On the contrary, they provide you with a clearly defined path for moving forward.

If everything was already perfect, there would be no opportunity to make improvements. There would be no way to enjoy the profound satisfaction of making a positive difference.

Enthusiastically embrace life as it is, with all the ups and downs. For within the context of life as it is you can make it truly outstanding.

Now is when you have the opportunity to connect your most treasured dreams with that abundance, and to bring them to life. Focused, purposeful, inspired action is how you can most effectively do so.

Today you can choose, you can take action, you can make a difference and you can make real, satisfying, lasting progress. Today you have the priceless opportunity to live your life as you envision it.

The best life you can imagine is today within your grasp. So go beyond mere imagining, and live each moment in the direction of the very best you know life can be.

Confidently forward

The difficulties can get you down, but only if you let them. The setbacks can make you discouraged, but only if you allow them to do so.

You always have another choice. You can choose to focus on the good places you intend to go to, instead of on the painful places you've had to go through.

Sure, life is tough and the journey is difficult. Yet at the same time life can be exquisitely beautiful and immensely rewarding.

It doesn't really accomplish anything to complain about, or to dwell on, life's unfairness. What will make a positive difference is to put your energy and enthusiasm into following a meaningful purpose.

Decide that you will put the difficulties to work for you. Let them inspire you and make you more and more determined.

Each time you experience a setback, use it as an opportunity to remind you of the good and desirable places you intend to go. Then step confidently forward, leave that negative incident behind, and move ahead with more energy and passion than ever before.

Know and go

Know that you can, and you can. Decide that you will, and you will.

The most essential ingredient in your success is you. Your authentic intention and solid commitment will bring into your life whatever you choose.

Just because achievement is not easy or instantaneous, doesn't mean it's impossible or out of your reach. Know that you can, go make it happen, and what you truly desire you will most certainly achieve.

The problems and challenges give you the opportunity to prove you really want the achievement. Your effectiveness in reaching it comes directly from the authentic passion you have for doing so.

In every moment, you make a choice, and those choices add up to the life you experience. You can choose to follow your purpose, and to achieve what you know deep inside you can, or you can choose to avoid your greatest possibilities.

In this moment, and the next and the next, choose to go forward to a life that grows ever richer and more fulfilling. You know you can, so get going, keep going, and bring your dreams magnificently to life.

Go with what you have

This moment is here, the situation is as it is, so go with it. Your best option is to adopt a positive, enthusiastic attitude, and to move forward with what you have.

Wishing, complaining, blaming and harboring resentment won't do much other than waste your time. Instead, use that time to use what's available to you and make things better.

Your goals and dreams are too important to put off until conditions are perfect. Go with the conditions as they are, and get busy right now with making those dreams come true.

There's much to distract you, and it's easy to make perfectly reasonable excuses out of those distractions. Yet you can choose instead to focus on the task at hand, using your diligent efforts to create what you desire from what you have.

Go with what you have, from where you are, with the powerful passion of authentic purpose. And you can end up anywhere you choose.

Your highest level

A little extra effort can buy you a lot of additional options. Instead of always being hindered by what you must do, put yourself in full control of what you can achieve.

A little more self-discipline and initiative can give you a lot more power over your own destiny. By embracing full responsibility for your own actions, you make those actions much more beneficial and effective.

Avoiding that responsibility, and seeking to take the easy way out, will quickly add to your difficulties. Being less than you can be, and doing less than you know you can do, will cause far more pain than any external challenge ever could.

There's a reason why you have a burning desire to matter, to make a real difference in the world. It's an essential part of who you are, of your deepest purpose, to get good and valuable things done.

So use the opportunity of this moment, and of every moment, to live and work and love and enjoy at your highest level. Let your unique value flow forth without holding back.

Live each day with the courage of your own special, beautiful possibilities. Always give your best, for it is your most profound and fulfilling desire to do so.

The greatest success

You don't have to be famous to be important. You don't have to be a celebrity to be successful.

You don't have to live in opulent luxury to be rich. You don't have to be irresponsible to be free.

You don't have to be outrageous to be creative. You don't have to be abusive to be impressive.

You can be quietly humble and still be amazingly effective. You can be kind and considerate and still have great influence.

Just because people don't fall at your feet and worship you, doesn't mean you are a failure. Quiet success is just as sweet as loud, flamboyant success, and usually much more real.

Success is what you choose for it to be, not what everyone else says it must be. Live your life in each moment in a way that truly fulfills you and brings value to your world, for that is the greatest success.

What you give

It is by making a difference that you make a life. It is by giving of your authentic self that you gain access to life's great richness.

When things are going well, you have many opportunities to make a difference. When difficult problems arise, you have even more opportunities to move the world positively forward.

Today will present you with plenty of meaningful opportunities to make a positive difference. Each of these opportunities is also an opportunity to greatly enrich your life.

If it is self-esteem you seek, here is a way to guarantee it. Observe yourself as you work through the challenges and act to create real value in your world.

All of life longs to hear your unique voice. Be yourself, and do it with passion, effectiveness, creativity and love.

Make the choices that will make a real difference. What you give is what determines how well you truly live.

Best possibilities

Some people think they can demand your attention just by being outrageous. Give your attention instead to those who offer real substance.

If you allow yourself to be offended, you're allowing someone else to dictate your thoughts and feelings. Instead of being offended, you can choose to be amused or inspired, or to simply let it go.

Give your time the respect it deserves. Use it for what truly matters, not just to feed someone else's ego, or your own.

Focus on the best possibilities, not merely on the loudest spectacles. Give your attention to life's true beauty.

You're surrounded by a universe that is endlessly fascinating and overflowing with valuable substance. You can live each moment of every day with meaningful, authentic richness.

There's no need to settle for a flimsy, superficial imitation of what matters. You deserve the real thing, so live it each and every day.

Act on your dreams

Your most treasured dreams are far too valuable to be hidden away. Instead, put them into action so that they become real and vibrant contributions to your world.

Every moment will be filled with some activity or another. So fill as many of those moments as you can today with positive action.

You're always moving in some direction or another. So move steadily in the direction of those things you value and treasure most.

It can be all too easy to get caught up in the empty distractions that continually come your way. But do you really want to waste your time and energy on them when there is so much more you can be doing?

Pick the most positive, valuable, magnificent thing you can imagine and put it into action. Let it fill your thoughts and fill your moments.

When each action, no matter what it may be, is taken as a step toward what you treasure most, the power of joy and purpose will fill your efforts. Put your dreams into action, and put your own special value into life.

Uniquely valuable day

This is a great day to be alive. This is a great day to be you.

You can delight in the beauty of every little thing. You can experience the wonderful satisfaction of knowing you're making a positive difference.

You can dream, and then enjoy working your way toward the fulfillment of that dream. You can learn and create, and love and share, and experience life's richness in your own unique way.

This is an outstanding moment, because it is a culmination of all you've ever experienced. The paths you've chosen have led you right here, and now you can do something new and meaningful with it all.

The fears and shortcomings of your past no longer have to hold you back. The genuine love that's within you has more longing and ability to be expressed than ever before.

Look around you with thankful, loving eyes, and feel what a truly great day it is to be alive. The very best of life is here now for you, so live it to the fullest on this uniquely valuable day.

Your own special excellence

Life is filled with frustration, pain, inconvenience, disappointment and all sorts of other troubles. And in every frustration, in every inconvenience, in every difficulty is an opportunity to make life better.

You don't have to accept anything less than a life of excellence. Because you can make a difference, and you can continually make improvements.

Instead of complaining about whatever may be bothering you, simply acknowledge it and then get busy doing something to improve the situation. Instead of settling for anything less than the best you can imagine, keep making improvements until your reality is in line with your highest vision.

There's nothing positive to be gained by worrying about what might go wrong. Put your energy into arranging for things to go the way you intend.

Of course you cannot control every influence upon your life. However, you can prepare and position yourself to intelligently, purposefully and positively respond to whatever comes your way.

If your life is not living up to your very highest expectations, there are countless ways to make improvements. Choose to act, choose to improve, and bring your own special excellence to life.

The gift of today

You have a wonderful, beautiful, valuable gift with which you can literally transform your life. That gift is this day you're now living.

Life's great abundance is here on this day for you to put to good use. Today you can choose, you can learn, you can act, and you can make real progress.

Today has limitless potential. Yet for that potential to be transformed into value, you must make use of the opportunity of today while it is here.

Today is much too valuable to waste. Its magnificent possibilities are already here, so step quickly forward and make the most of them.

Today is a priceless gift that's yours to live right now. Joyously fill it with your own unique flavor of life and achievement.

Make reality your friend

Though limiting factors can be a burden, they can also give you a solid, predictable framework in which to operate. What might at first seem to be an obstacle could end up providing valuable support.

For example, the force of gravity makes it difficult to move a large, massive rock. Yet that same force will also ensure that the rock stays in place once you get it where you want it.

Playing by the rules and adhering to a strictly defined discipline makes achievement more difficult. Yet it also plays an essential role in making achievement possible.

No situation is inherently limiting. Because you have the ability to adjust and adapt and make positive use of whatever factors may be present.

A massive brick wall can stop you cold, or it can provide you with a solid foundation upon which to build. It all depends on what you choose to do with what you encounter.

Rather than judging something to be a limiting factor, do the work to make it an enabling factor. Make reality your friend by making positive use of it.

Positively responsible

Even when you're in a negative place, the next step you take can be in a positive direction. Even when you're feeling down, with your thoughts and actions you can lift yourself up.

Disappointment and frustration are facts of life that you'll often encounter. But that doesn't mean you have to perpetuate them.

When you stumble and fall, it hurts. Yet no matter how much the setback has hurt you, your best choice is always to quickly get back up and get going again.

Instead of fighting back with more of your own negativity, advance forward with your own meaningful, positive intentions. When life has been tough and painful, grab the opportunity to make it richer and more fulfilling.

Feeling resentful and sorry for yourself will just end up giving you even more reasons to feel sorry and resentful. Choose instead to feel positively and enthusiastically responsible for pushing yourself beyond the difficulties.

Every moment is an opportunity for growth and advancement, no matter what has happened in the moments before. Seize each opportunity, and quickly leave life's disappointments behind.

Live it now

If you postpone your joys until later, the opportunities to experience those joys will grow fewer and fewer. If you put off dealing with the problems until later, they will become much more difficult to get beyond.

Choose instead to live life as it comes. Diligently, and without complaints, work through each difficulty as it comes along, and enthusiastically live the opportunities for joy as they appear.

Your world is filled with abundance. And in order to transform that abundance into meaningful value, you must make good use of it as it arrives.

Each moment gives you the opportunity to add richness to your life. Each day brings you new ways to express the unique beauty of who you are.

Live that richness and express that beauty not in some distant, imagined someday. Live it now.

Your life is here today, filled with all kinds of great possibilities for joy and achievement. Get up, get going, and live it now.

Celebrate the goodness

By all means work to grow and improve. Yet remember to also appreciate and enjoy.

There was a time when your goal was to be where you now are and to have what you now have. Now that you're here, take the time to fully enjoy how far you've come.

Your energy for moving forward comes from your appreciation of where you are. The experience of enjoying the dreams you've already reached motivates you to reach for more.

You'll never be happy with the new things you acquire if you can't enjoy the things you currently have. The more you enjoy each day, the more positive energy you'll have to keep moving ever forward.

Be truly thankful for what you have and you'll find new, creative ways to make use of it. Appreciate where you are, and you'll find a workable path to where you want to be.

Enjoy this moment, this day, this place, and this situation. Celebrate the goodness of where you are and the positive energy will push you quickly forward.

The long haul

Instant results are not always the best results. Have a little patience, and you can greatly expand your possibilities.

If your desires were always fulfilled immediately, you would have nothing to look forward to. You would miss out on the joy of anticipation.

There are some good things you can have instantly. There are many, many more good and valuable things that will take time.

You deserve more than mere instant gratification. Be willing to take the time, and to put in the effort, and give yourself access to life's greatest rewards.

Value that arrives in an instant is probably going to be gone in an instant. Value that takes time and commitment to create will enrich your life far into the future.

Dream, plan, prepare and persist in your efforts for the long haul. The more time and effort you give, the more richness you can achieve.

A positive reality

If you choose to cause harm, then you will be harmed by it as well. If you choose to create value, then you will benefit from that value.

If you direct your efforts against the interests of others, those efforts will also work to oppose your own true interests. When you work to support others, you also end up supporting and advancing your own life.

Negativity is universally destructive, regardless of the direction in which it is focused. Genuine love is universally creative and beneficial, and goes far beyond its intended object.

Don't bring your whole world down by obsessing over who or what you are against. Lift your world higher by supporting and advancing the values and visions you are for.

Let go of the fears that hold you back. Grab hold of your most treasured dreams, for they will bring out your highest levels of effectiveness and creativity.

Put your energy and efforts into what you favor. The way to experience a positive reality is to constantly keep your focus on a positive vision.

Always your choice

When life hands you a negative experience, respond with a positive action. Instead of letting the difficult circumstances pull you down, choose to let them inspire you.

Sure, it's easy to become dismayed. Yet the truly empowering fact is that it's just as easy to become determined.

Your attitude is always your choice. So you might as well choose the attitude that will serve you the very best.

When you find yourself feeling angry, cynical, disillusioned, resentful, worried or apathetic, stop. Choose to use those negative feelings as a positive trigger.

Aim your focus in the direction of your best possibilities. Take quick, decisive action in support of those possibilities.

You are in control of your attitude, your thoughts and your actions. So choose to be positive, forward-looking, creative and effective no matter what may come your way.

A life well lived

Pleasure is nice, but it is never enough. Material wealth can be immensely helpful, but brings no fulfillment of its own accord.

Power can give great satisfaction to your ego. Yet a life lived solely in the service of ego ends up being small and pathetic.

What truly makes life good is the commitment you put into making life good. What makes life good is the experience of making a difference.

There is much that's already been given to you by virtue of your existence, and there is much more that may or may not be given to you. What matters at the core of your spirit, though, is not what you have but what you do with it.

No person, situation, event or possession can give you fulfillment. What brings about real fulfillment is your participation in bringing it about.

Life's rewards are not what you long for. What you long for is to genuinely earn your own significance.

Every moment is an opportunity to do so. Treasure each of those opportunities, make full use of them, and you will have the priceless experience of a life well lived.

Risk in everything

When you act, there is no guarantee you'll succeed. That's what makes success so valuable and so very much worth achieving.

When you venture forward with the intention of creating value, all sorts of obstacles will befall you. Make the commitment to work diligently and enthusiastically through each one, because that is where the value is made.

There is risk in everything. Instead of avoiding the risks in life, learn to successfully manage them and transform them into achievement.

It is only by accepting the risk of failure that you gain the possibility of success. You, and your whole world, deserve for you to create that success.

Yes, life is risky. Fortunately, you are wonderfully and powerfully able to learn and to adapt and to deal with whatever you must.

With your thoughtfully considered actions, you can minimize the risk and maximize the achievement. So go ahead, accept the risk, and follow it all the way through to great success.

Far beyond you

Your own success goes far beyond you. In this highly interconnected world, when you create value in your own life you cannot help but also create value in many other lives.

True success is not selfish, even when it is undertaken for self-serving reasons. In the process of achieving your own goals, you enable those around you to achieve their goals.

When value is created, it adds value to all of life. So instead of placing judgments on your intention to create value, just get busy and bring that value to life.

Your dreams are not exactly like anyone else's dreams. They have a beauty all their own.

Go ahead and share that beauty with all of life. Achieve and succeed in a way that's meaningful to you, and give your own goodness to the world.

Bring your authentic dreams to life. For when you do, all of life will benefit from the beauty of those dreams.

Through the difficulties

One of life's greatest gifts is the fact that life is difficult. Because in dealing with life's difficulties, you build priceless skills.

Those skills enable you to successfully fulfill your deepest, most meaningful purposes. It is precisely because life is difficult that you are able to make it great.

It is because life is difficult that you are able to rise above the difficulties. You are able to make a difference and you are able to truly matter.

The burdens you carry can set the stage for your greatest triumphs. The challenges you work through challenge you to become stronger and more capable.

Life's difficulties provide the resistance to strengthen your life muscles. Though it is painful to feel the burn, it is also immensely satisfying to feel those muscles growing ever more powerful.

Accept and acknowledge life's difficulties, and you connect yourself with life's great opportunities. Work your way through the difficulties, and you arrive at sweet, satisfying fulfillment.

More than just getting by

You can do just enough to get by, but then all you get for your trouble is to stay where you already were. With a little more effort, you can make your efforts truly count for something.

As long as you're doing the work, you might as well use the opportunity to create meaningful value. As long as you're putting in the time, you might as well get some significant rewards from what you're doing.

If your attitude is to just get by, you're setting yourself up for frustration and resentment. When, on the other hand, your goal is to give your very best, even the obstacles become opportunities to move forward.

Instead of calculating how little you can get by with doing, get enthusiastic about how much you have the opportunity to accomplish. Instead of feeling trapped by your obligations, choose to feel empowered by your ability to make a difference.

There is nothing to be gained by making yourself miserable about what you must do. There's everything to be gained by fully investing yourself in the work you're doing.

Do yourself a big favor, and go beyond just getting by. Rise above your obligations, and transform them into opportunities for spectacular achievement.

Expand the beauty

There is magnificent beauty in life. And what's even better, is that you can make much, much more.

Delight in the beauty that's here right now. Let it inspire you to create new forms of beauty and value that have never existed before.

Remind yourself how good it is to be living in a world filled with endless possibilities. Express your sincere gratitude by bringing some of the best possibilities to life.

Open yourself to see the wonder and magnificence in even the smallest things. Feel how good it feels to be in awe of each moment you're in.

The way beyond life's negativity is not to fight it but to overwhelm it with joy. Let yourself be a constant conduit of life's immense joy.

Joyfully put life's ever-present goodness to good and meaningful use. Spread the joy, expand the beauty, and make life richer than it has ever been.

Unmatched joy

It is in the living that life gains more and more meaning. It is from the challenges, obstacles, disappointments and persistent efforts that life's achievements gain their value.

If you wish to enjoy success, don't seek to shortcut the process. If you wish to be kind, compassionate and helpful to others, don't enable them to shortcut the process.

Living well is not the same as living easy and carefree. Being truly rich does not come from being irresponsible, nor does it enable you to avoid responsibility.

You can have mountains of money and possessions and still be very poor. Life's real richness is not about what you have, but rather about how much authentic goodness and fulfillment you express.

You may indeed find superficial pleasure in many things. Yet what gives true joy and fulfillment to your spirit is what you have earned with integrity and responsibility.

It gains you nothing to have everything if you have not put your effort and commitment into it. Step up, take full responsibility for creating real value in your world, and experience the unmatched joy of making a difference.
